I know ubi soft used to do different versions for different countries. due to the amount of the data thats on the disks, some games were forced to have region specific versions..e.g. games with speech being the main ones. it will work regardless though =) pc games are generic. although most come up in english / german etc…

If they didn't work on computers in different countries, then there would be no point of having different languages built into the game.
