When I moved to Michigan due to a relocation order from our Head Corporate Office, the first thing I researched on was for a church where I can continue serving as a music minister. For as long as it wasn’t too far to drive to, a church which I can deem best for me and my family will be an item off my checklist.

It was unfortunate I was not able to find any congregation through the internet. There were loads of directories loaded in the web results, but nothing came up as informational as I needed. It would be impractical to call these congregations anyway, so I decided to heed referral from our pastors.

From this little experience, I understood the importance to create a church website. Not just one a bit presentable than being a directory enlistment, but something of real value to the mission and vision of the church.

If I was a freshman student in high school doing some research, wouldn’t Wikipedia be one of the basic online resources that will provide me foundational understanding of the subject I was researching? If it was a lost soul searching the internet for answers, would not a proper church website be best to minister and eventually secure this soul on exploration? In fact, music artists create a music website not only to spread awareness about their music, but also to generate a fan base. Why is a well designed, highly informational church website do the same to win more souls?

Now that making your own website for free is as simple a basic undertaking as reciting a nursery rhyme through the amazing free online website building technology, there are impediments for evangelism to partner up with the World Wide Web.
